Thanks for responding. Yes, that is the William Doak that I have believed to be the proprietor of Doak's Stand. I just checked J.C. Thompson's tree in Rootsweb (Family Ties), and I see that he has revised it to show this William as Sally Doak's father by her Choctaw mother rather than the previous listing of William Paisley Doak. I think what had confused a lot of people was that Mary Polly McMurray was listed as being the wife of William Paisley Doak on other sites on the internet, and she must have been the mother of Boyd, as he is listed as Boyd McMurray Doak. I would very much appreciate any info you have. I am anxious to track down as many of Sally Doak's ancestors as I can. Thanks much. You can respond here or to my personal email address:
