Hi Greg:
I beleive that I am connected to this family. I descend from William Doak, born about 1848 in Huron. On his marriage record to Maria Wilson, it lists his parents as Alexander and Sarah. While I have lots of information after William and Maria, I don't know much about his parents or siblings.
The other day while at the National Archives, I found an 1871 census record that shows the following family:
Robert Doak, 24, born in Ontario
Rosanah Doak, 65, born in Ireland, widowed
John Doak, 14, born in Ontario
William Doak, 18, born in Ontario
Rosana Doak is also listed in the 1881 census for Bayfield at the age of 80. I know from th Bayfield cemetery records that she died in 1884.
Robert Doak is listed in 1881 at Stanley where he is married to Annie Doak and has a six month old son Robert. William is listed in Manitoba. Did not find John Doak in the 1881 census though.
