Patricia, thank you for the information. I have learned how important it is to explore the siblings as well as my direct ancestors. Lucinda Minerva Doak, daughter to Joseph Melvin married Henry Morgan Sharp, father to Frank Sharp, father to Myrl Sharp, father to my dad, Donald. One question: The 1840 census you mention, is it Arkansas or Tennessee? I have looking on the net and have found many Doaks in both. I haven't been to the LDS family history center for awhile to do actual census work. I'll keep in touch! Judy
