I have information of Rev. Samuel Doak, Jr. (b.8/1/1749) (ancestors & descendants)who was born in Augusta County, Virginia and founded Washington College in Jonesborough, Tenn.
Samuel Doak Sr. was born about 1700 in Antrim Co., Ulster Provence, N. IRL. He immigrated to America in 1740. His will was proven on 19 May 1772 in Augusta Co., VA.
He was married in America to Jane Mitchell (daughter of Thomas Mitchell and Eleanor (?)) about 1740 in Chester Co., PA. American Jane Mitchell was born about 1711 in N. IRL. She immigrated in 1740. They had 4 sons & 5 daughters. Samuel, Sr. had a brother Robert born about 1698.
