This comes from my aunt Isobel (visiting from Glasgow):

They came from Girvan, Ayrshire. The were weavers. They went back to the Peacocks from the 1700s and they lived in Colmonell (close to Girvan).

But my aunt doesn't have her files on hand. More information later if you request it.
