Your message may be related to several others on this forum that refer to the Matthews family. Proof of the identity of the Mary Doak who married James Matthews has eluded researchers for decades, but several researchers seem to be working on the problem. However, records do show that the Mary Doak who was the daughter of David and Mary (Hanna) Doak was: born 26 Oct 1779 in Montgomery County, Virginia; married to Adam Walker Jr. on 11 Mar 1813; had at least 4 sons and one daughter---all identified in Walker Bible records; and died 28 July 1842 in Pike County, MO. Many of her descendants are in Oregon today. I hope continued searching will find the proof for your Mary (Doak) Matthews. Sincerely, Kirsten Straight
