November 1718: Ship Elizabeth arrived from Belfast. 1719: Several members of Doak family in Rockingham Co NH. 1720: Robert, James and John property owners in Nutfield, NH. 1724: Several brothers settled in area of Donegal in PA. 1727: Tax List Donegal Twp, Chester Co PA "John Doak and mother." 1729: John Doak and mother on Tax List of new county of Lancaster PA. 1742: Samuel and John Doak on Muster roll Augusta Co VA. 1747-48: John sold land in Augusta Co and patented land in Lunenburg Co VA. 1755: John Doak appointed processioner in Cumberland Parish. 1760: Granville grant to John Doak in Rowan Co NC. 1761: John & Mary Doak sell land in Lunenburg Co VA. 1770: John Doak gives his all his personal property -- including clothing, bed and bedding-- to son Robert. Deed recorded one month later. Have legal or church record tracing John Doak for most years between 1718 and 1770. Land records are difficult to read, but they give the most reliable info.
