Question pls. 25 vs 37 marker matches
I have noticed that when the many of the charts that give you information on How Related we are to those of the Same Surname as we, that they most often only use a 25 marker test as an example.
For instance, they say that a 24/25 match to someone of the Same Surname IS a relative that Very Closely related to you.
But what happens if on down the long chain of a 37 marker test, your matches go completely off so that you now only have a 31/37 match to this Same Surname person?
I much prefer the odds at the 24/25 match as to the 31/37 mismatch. Also the one marker off in the 24/25 is from one that is a very rapid mutator.
Can anyone please explain this?Thank You.
