I guess I was not crystal clear with my original post.I will try to be more succinc.
1) Of course it is volentary I do feel a personal obligation because I believe in the project.Out of the two projects for the basic surname The furthest anyone can go back so far is about 200 years.My line goes back more than 300 years to a specific town in France.The Mesnards from that area were part of te Franc invasion of Gaul that occured at the end of the Roman Empire.Several were in the crusades.
2)I never said the test was worthless otherwise I would not believe in the project.
3) I actally can read the test results with some understanding.I took college level genitics and still remember some of it.
4) My sepecific beef is you must hand over your mother's maiden name for a test that only deals with the father's side of your tree.
