Robert!
I feel that you know your and I hope you aren't too busy to answer a dilemma I might have...
A year or so ago I matched 12 markers with a BROWN from Canada(my family hs never been north of Va as far as we know)The head of my BROWN study group indicated tht we MORE THAN LIKELYare related SEVERAL generations back there and paper trail would indicate EUROPE
My fellow BROWN was not interested in going even for 25 markers soWHO KNOWS?With a name as common as BROWN do you feel we had that LONG AGO commonancestor named BROWN?
I also have matched 25 markers with two other familes NEITHER of which are BROWN surnamed
One family stated their male ancestor ws "adopted" in the family with their current surname and that they knew they did not match others with that name... They indicated this all happened around 1840 in a state I never knew my ancestors to have been in (but could have)
The last guy WAS ADOPTED in the 1930sand has NO clue where his real folks came from...
Do you think I am PROBABLY related to these families?
THANKS for your time,
BROWN,john
