Hi Don,
FamilyTreeDNA was used for the "Kelly sisters" project tests. You can check the prices at their website.
FTDNA did not compare the two tests. They were not aware of the "project," so they did not know there were two results to be compared. If you think about it, that's good. You want indenpendent results. The comparison was easy; they were a perfect match and there were no other matches. The latter part is very important; if both were CRS and matched hundreds of others, that would mean nothing. It's also important that a full HVR1/HVR2 test be used. HVR1 alone will tell you the haplogroup, but as with a 12-marker Y-DNA test, is not sufficient for genealogical testing. My two cousins have many HVR1 matches, but only one other HVR1/2 match in two years.
I ordered the tests, but the kits were mailed to the participants and back from them to FTDNA.
