Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

I would not pay too much attention to close matches with only one person. You would need to check the modal haplotype for the match's group, since he might be an outlier. The modal is the most common value at each marker. It is usually shown on the sites at FTDNA, but is easy to figure out from other sites.

If you are a close match to it and have few or no matches with the Owen surname, it might be worth looking into the possibility of a non-paternal event. Search the respective surname message boards at Genforum and lists and boards at Rootsweb with the other surname to see if anything has been uncovered.

A member of my surname project has a close match with Owen Group 12 at:

http://www.hprg.com/owen/files/testresowen.htm

He also has a close match with the Myrick modal for the 2nd group at:

http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/myrick/results

The modals for the two families are quite close and the Myricks had a number of Owen Myricks. Thus, there may be an early connection between the two.
