My FTDNA Number is 83425 and my Y-Search ID is MXM23.My test is a 67 marker set.
I am already of member of the WILSON Project on FTDNA.
On FTDNA I had zero matches and nothing close on Y-Search.
I've had correspondence with both Bennett GREENSPAN of FTDNAand Ken NORDTVEDT and both were intrigued by the rarity, but no answers.
This lack of any matches concerned me to the extent I had my third cousin tested to ensure I was not an illegitimate child. His FTDNA number is 162690 and his Y-Search ID is CVZ5Z.We are a match. So it is confirmed we are WILSON back to 1788.
On Y-search, I match the modals in Z8RFW and EPDPN, which are modals for the Scottish Highlands. The details of those modals are not known to me.
Back to the idea of process of elimination.Presumably there are enough known WILSON trees that have been tested members, it would be extremely helpful to simply eliminate them from the traditional research process. Is that not a reasonable approach in lieu of positive matches?
