DNA reading suggestions to avoid

The following is a list of some books concerning DNA reading suggestions to avoid:

Category: Science Fiction:

The Seven Daughters of Eve: The Science that Reveals Our Genetic Ancestry
Author: Brian Sykes

The Real Eve: Modern Man's Journey Out of Africa
Author: Stephen Oppenheimer

Comment:

The above books offer an obscure focus on the idealistic orgins of mankind. Science is utilized, however, the authors force the conclusions merely to present their version of the beginning of mankind.

Category: Extreme Science Fiction Thriller

Adam's Curse: A Future without Men
by Bryan Sykes

Comment:

The end of man. Only women will survive. Possibly a good plot for a sci-fi movie.

Category: Uninformative Genetic Genealogy

Trace Your Roots with DNA: Using Genetic Tests to Explore Your Family Tree
Authors: Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak and Ann Turner

DNA and Family History
Author: Chris Pomery

Comment:

Many issues concerning DNA testing left out. Authors lack the expertise to inform anyone about DNA or DNA testing.

If you think any of the books are a must read, then do so at your own risk.

Richard
