In this context, it refers to the minority race in a person's racial makeup. For example, if a person is mostly European, his Native American ancestry would be referred to as his admixture and vice versa.
I thought she had taken the DNAPrint test, which gave percentages of Native American, East Asian, European and Sub-Saharan. Since your mother looks NA, the admixture mayhave been recent enough to show up in this test.
However, it appears from a number of posts that DNAPrint is almost out of business (only 3 people in the lab), due to the credit crunch. Some people are trying to buy various parts of the business, so the test may be offered again. I recommend that your mother or you go ahead with the mtDNA test. If nothing shows up, your mother can take the DNAPrint test when it is reoffered:

I have never understood what the results actually mean in terms of ethnic composition. In fact, they only claim that your profile has its highest occurrence in the areas listed. This article (paragraph 5.1) has some information on it:
