Would having Seven - 60/67 partial ydna matches to surnames all of known Scottish origins and roots, be any sort of indication that my own family name (which I cannot find links to prior to c1710 in Nor. Ireland), also has ties to Scotland?
Our Haplotype is shown to be of ancient Norwegian heritage, but from the old genealogies of the Scottish surnames that I share these now 7 partial ydna matches to (some of them being closer by 4 than to my own surname which at its highest is off by 11 mismatches but still has the same haplotype etc.), but would these 7 Scottish 60/67 partial ydna matches possibly be an indicator that our family was most likely in Scotland at some point in time as well before going to Nor. Ireland and coming to America?
Thank You.
