Hi John--the Burle Bryant matches to Weeks are not that great--about 13 off of 37. However, the Bryant matches are 3 and 4 off of 37 to Weeks--and are all his 3 closest matches. He doesn't have many matches with any surnames due to the more rare haplogroup. He also has a 23 out of 24 match with someone who has only had the 24 marker test. This still wouldn't concern me if they weren't the very people I should be matching--at least as uncles or cousins of the great, great, great grandfather.
It's the same with the Weeks group. The fellow Burle Bryant is matching closest is the very Weeks I convinced to get tested because we seem to have a possibility of a match on paper.
We figured we would either directly match--or be about 800 to 1000 years apart due to the way the lines split way back.
I honestly would not be unhappy either way with the tests--in fact--I am thrilled with the information I've gotten so far, but it has become increasing hard to research as lines I should be matching are not even in the same haplogroup--and they are my other uncle's matches!!!!
Its just to weird!
I guess stranger things have happened in the wilds of south Georgia....
