I understand this a bit different.
Surname, Common Location, Hopotype do not change the curve but are independent factors that when added to the probability stated by the curve increase the chance of finding the match. A lot like adding the odds of matching one of the two pair in poker. Of course then you have to up the bid of working on the paper trial, testing more markers, or putting to the pot in poker. The curve did not change or the odds from the match from the curve did change.
