Hi John,
No, of course their Results reports are Not that detailed. I WISH they Required More Details and I also wish they would do away with the 12 marker tests Entirely as for genealogical purposes they are Useless!
The results report just says ~Scotland~ so I'm guessing that's how the person who submitted their Ydna put it.
We have 3 (one of them has now removed their info or FTDNA is not showing all of the matches again...that has been another problem. The report suddenly doesn't show folks on the list anymore that Used to be listed, but they seem to have fixed that now)...anyway, we have/had 3 60/67 matches to 2 different surnames (2 of which were the same). All 3 have Scottish roots. I looked up these surnames in Black's Scottish Surname book and according to it, its true.
On YSearch I've noticed a lot of folks simply put the Place of Origin as to where their earliest known ancestors came from such as England, Scotland or Ireland of US or some put the state in which they live and a lot more leave that area blank which is annoying for those of us trying to figure out Where our Ancestral roots may lie and are hoping the Ydna tests will lead us in the right direction.
