On the web site, after you sign in with your kit number nad password, there is a box, JOIN Y SEARCH.
If you click on it, you can have your DNA results added to that web site.
I did.
In doing so, another family branch of my surname was discovered. We match on the 12 markers exact.
Each of us, has to determine just how far out on the markers it will be of benefit to have tested.
I went out to 25 markers, and it separates our category further.
As I go about looking for more information about our family tree lines, I ask those other researchers and family members, if they turn out to be so, if they would like to contact another family surname member to contribute, to further make the results more meaningful.
Again, as you all say, it is up to each of them to either post their results, as they have no guilty conscience about whether or not to do so.After all, that is the whole point of having the test performed in the first place.
Each DNA test group promises that the samples will be destroyed after testing has been completed. And or stored for further testing, as the case may be.
