I know this is an old post but thought I would give it a chance. I am researching a Samuel A or H DIXON. I have received probate papers from Randolph Co., ILL. for the year 1849, for my ancestor Richmond Darwin b. 1796 in York, South Carolina. His family moved to Jackson Co., Tenn in 1808 or there about. On the 1820 Census of Jackson Co. Tenn it shows at the top of the page Richmond DARWIN with his first born son and his wife. At the bottom of the page it has a Samuel DIXSON b. bet. 1776 - 1794. Do you have any info on this Samuel DIXON? I have a hunch that somehow He and Richmond are related. I don't have Richmonds wifes name but maybe her father! The reason I am thinking this is because Richmond gave him land in trust for 2 of his children. Any help would be great.
