Thanks for the info. What I have so far is as follows:
Irvin Wilson Ditton was born 1-14-1872 in Arcola, IN. He married Maude Barnes in 1895. They had 2 children, Hazel M 1-5-1895 and Ralph Wesley 1-8-1898. Maude passed away in 1901 and the children were raised my their grandmother Rachel. Irvin became a doctor and practiced for many years (50 I heard) in Fort Wayne, IN. There he married Edna Frame on 6-17-1913. Irvin passed away 8-28-1964.
Ralph Wesley Ditton was my grandfather. He married Edna Fahrankoph date unknown. They had one son, Irvin W. Ditton (my father). They divorced in 1947. From what I have heard from my mother, Edna was a drinker and smoker. She lives(d) on Barbee Lake in Indiana. I am not sure what happened to her. Ralph then married Mildred Shumm Babboch. I met her once when on Christmas one year they brought me a Chatty Cathy Doll. This is the only time I remember seeing my grandfather. He divorced Mildred and married Inez Mae Hilyer. It just dawned on me that this is also the surname of a congressman in Indiana. Might be a lead?
Irvin W. Ditton (my father) married my mother Joyce B. Gawthrop soon after she graduated high school around 1949 at a Justice of the Peace in Syracuse, IN. They had 2 daughters. Linda Jo was born 1950 or 51 and died a few days after birth. I am their second daughter, Debra Suzzette born 8-18-1952 in Elkhart, IN. They divorced soon after. I need to research marriage date as mom can't remember.
I married James Gavin Muhme 1-31-70 and we have two sons, Michael and Jason.
I now live in California but plan to go back to Indiana for Michael's wedding in August. I hope to do some more research while I am there.
