Henry Dittmer b. Jan 1849 Germany and wife Anna b. July 1856 Germany. Henry emmigrated to USA 1868 and Anna in 1875. This info from 1910 Jackson twp., Washington Co., IA census; pg 23a. Anna had 9 children, 8 of whom were living in 1900: Christopher b. Nov 1878 m. Elizabeth Barr; Henry Jr. b. Jan 1879 m. Elma G. Barr; George b. Sept 1881; Anna b. Jan 1882; Emma b. Jan 1884; Frank b. Aug 1885; Mary [possibly Dorothy Marie who m. C. E. Thompson?] b. Oct 1890; and John b. July 1892. All children born in Illinois. By 1920 [if Mary is indeed Dorothy and therefore Mrs. C.E. Thompson] there is a Henry Dittmer age 74 widowed, living with C.E. Thompson in Jefferson twp., Adair, IA. Does any of this help?
