George Ditmars b. 1773 in Somerset Count

George is from the Dutch community in New Jersey. His father's name was Johannes.
I am interested in finding out more information about what happened to George and his wife, Charity Voorhees, after they left NJ for Ionia County, Michigan. They moved west with their son John Ditmars about 1840.
In the 1850 census George was a 76 year-old carpenter and Charity was 70. Did George die there in MI?
His son John moved on again to Neosho county, Kansas. John died in the Neosho area in 1859.
