I am interested in corresponding with descendants of Charles A. Dittmar and first wife Bridget Fagan/Fagen of San Francisco and Alameda Cos., California. Charles was born about 1833 in Prussia and Bridget was born in County Meath, Ireland about 1839. They had eight known children, all born CA, probably in San Francisco: Mary b. ca. 1861; Louisa b. ca. 1865; Pauline A. 1867-1956; John b. ca. 1867; Charles E. b. ca. 1868; Louis b. ca. 1870; William F. b. ca. 1873 and Emile b. ca. 1874. Pauline married first Henry Wescher and second George Rammers. She lived in St. Helena, CA with Rammers. Her descendants include surnames Roebke, Beringer, and Mihelich. Charles E. Dittmar married Elizabeth C. McKenna and lived in Alameda Co., CA. John Dittmar and Louis Dittmar probably died young before 1880. The fates of the other children of Charles and Bridget are unknown as of October 2011. Any information about these families would be appreciated.
