Shirley, Welcome to the genfroum/dittmar.
In my family background(gggrandfather - 1850)
I have a Heinrich Ditmer who came to the USA in 1850 at the age of 18 but have no other records of him. He came to the states with his mother Eliabeth (age50) and brother Friedrich (age 14) and they settled in Plymouth, Mass. She remarried in 1852 to a Lewis Helm. I have no other information on Heinrich as to where he went or if he stayed in Plymouth.
