Hi,
My great-great grandfather, Charles Henry Dittman was born in Prussia. The family came to America and settled in Ohio in the Cincinnati area. I know the family had to be in the area during the 1830's-1840's. Maybe even the 20's. He married Annie Pursley. They had 3 children while living in Ohio. They moved to Jefferson, Indiana. In 1862/3 the family lived in Kentucky. Charles was a riverboat captain. He worked on the riverboats as a young boy. He most likely had brothers and sisters; however, I do not have any names. From your posting I would say we are most likely related.
