Hi Alicia! My wife's name is also Alicia. After 5 years I hope you get this message. I have heard several meanings of our last name Dittman/n. One is it is from an old name of Tuetmann or Tuesmann? Meaning "people of Tues", Tues is the main God of the ancients, and giving its name to the day "Tuesday". In fact our present weekdays Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/and Friday are all from the Names of our ancient Gods. Dittman/n means people of the people of Tues? Another is that Dittman/n means people who do some sort of sewing> In low german langusge "Man/n means people"? And Dittman/n in German is pronounced "Die tt man/n". In modern Germany "people" is usually "Volks" (Folks in English), as in Volkswagen (Peoples/Folks Wagon/car). Maybe someone knows the true meaning? Regards, Lawrence Keith Dittman <ccc95531@yahoo.com> Notify Administrator about this message?
