William, This has me scratching my head as well... I have been researching Stephen, because I am from the direct line that stayed in Maryland (Stephen T Rodgers is my GGGF). There is a marriage listed for Sarah Disney and Stephen Rogers 1 April 1839, and then to Elenore on 18 Jul 1848 as you mentioned... but the 1850 census shows a 26 year old Sarah Disney living next door, and using the name "Disney". The 1840 census shows a female aged 20 - 30 living in the Rogers/Rodgers household, and one female child under 5 years old. This would put Sarah at 16, should this Sarah and the Sarah married to Stephen be the same. Old enough to have a child, perhaps... but not common in this community, I don't believe. 1850 census shows Elenore as the wife, but there is a 10 year old child named Sarah J. Rodgers in the house. So... divorce after marrying to young due to pregnancy? Two woman named Sarah Disney? My suspect is the latter... but I havnt been able to prove it yet. Do you have any new info on this line you could share? Thanks! Dennis Rodgers Notify Administrator about this message?
