Julia / Julie Desmukes 1820s New Orleans / Arkansas ?

Hi All

I am searching for any possible information regarding Julia, or Julie Desmukes, (sp?) possibly born in Louisiana, around 1822, parents unknown, but, oral family history, refers to her father as the "appointed" Governor of New Orleans, which, given family humor could either have been an actual title,(although I could find no Desmukes, by any spelling, to have held such a title,) or, a humerous reference.
Julia/Julie married a Henry Stacey,(or possibly Stracey, an Englishman involved in shipping,of whom we also loose track,) and had a daughter with him, my Great,Great Grandmother, Berline Stacey, (Stracey?) also signing her name, Berlin, Burline, and Burlin, and who infuriatingly lists several states as her place of birth, however, we are pretty sure it is in Arkansas, about 1847. Berline Married Samuel Davis.
Any information or possible leads would be deeply, deeply appreciated! I will be more than happy to share any relevant family info., stories and photos that I have, too! Thanks, Deb Booth debboothart@gmail.com
