To Jim DoughteryThe name "KIZIAH" is correctly spelled according to 2 deeds recorded in Iredell County, NC. (1) She received 100 acres of land from the State of NC and later in 1804 she transferred the same land to her son Lewis Dishman. The information about She being Cherokee and here husband being Thomas and she being the daughter of Chief Doublehead is from the book about the UPCHURCH STOREY which states that Jefferson Dishman married Lydia Upchurch. It has been stated that about 70 applications in the GUIAN MILLER files 1906-1910 refer to Kiziah as the result of the Trail of Tears settlement from the US to the Cherokees and descendants, Also about 37000 of these applications were filed. I have never seen any of these documents and would be quite interested if anyone knows how or where they could be researched. etc. James D . Dishman JDDISHMAN@AOL.COM
