Fayette County, KY, Deed Book, Vol. U, Page 85

Know all men by these presents, that we JAMES SMITH, and RACHEL SMITH his wife late RACHEL DISHMAN, sister and heir at law of SAMUEL DISHMAN deceased and NANCY DISHMAN, also sister and heir at law of the said Samuel Dishman deceased, of Pulaski County, State of Kentucky, do hereby ordain, constitute and appoint JOHN DISHMAN of Simpson County in the state aforesaid our true and lawful attorney in fact for us and in our names to sell and convey the interest to which we are entitled in coparcenary as part of the heirs at law of the said Samuel Dishman deceased in and to a house and lot in the Town of Lexington Kentucky and in and to a certain tract or parcel of land in an undivided interest thereun, situated in Fayette County, late the property of the said Samuel Dishman deceased, and moreover to institute and prosecute such suit or suits as may be necessary for the recovery or division of said property or my part thereof -- and for and on our behalf to settle, liquidate, adjust and determine by compormise or otherwise as he may deem most expedient our claim or claims upon the estate of the said Samuel Dishman deceased of every description as well with the administrator of said estate as with everyother person or presons concenred and generally do all such acts in relation thereto as we might or could do were we personally persents. Hereby ratifying and confirming all and whatsoever our said attorney in fact may do in relateion to the premises as fully and absolutely as if we were personally present and done the same. Given under our hands and seals this 26th day of September in the year 1821.
