Excerpts from Will of JAMES DISHMAN,probated Aug. 1854 Iredell Co.,NC:
"Wife ELIZABETH to have land she lives on and at death or marriage to divide between ARCHY DISHMAN, MARK DISHMAN, WESLEY DISHMAN, DICEY MASSEY, SILAS DISHMAN, LETTY LAMBETH;
JAMES G. W. DISHMAN,my grandson, to have an equal share after giving my daughter
SUSY LAMBETH $1 and grandaughter NANCY DISHMAN a bed, and daughter KEZIA (DISHMAN) SHOEMAKER $1." This grandson, James G. W. Dishman is James George Washington Dishman who shows up in James' household on 1850 Iredell census as "Wash, age 4". He was evidently born out of wedlock to Kezia Dishman prior to her marrying Burril Shoemaker in 1852. I believe J.G.W. Dishman later changed his surname to HOLLAR, as his father was supposedly Lawson Hollar, according to his marriage license and his death certificate.
