I too, am a descendant of Tom and "Kizzy". Dishmon family tradition in Pickett Co., TN has always been that Kizzy was full blooded Cherokee and at least one family member, Martha Johnson (daughter of Marcus) applied for membership to the Cherokees. Don't know if she was ever accepted. I wouldn't accept as fact the Upchurch notation of Chief Doublehead. It is based on his being buried near Kizzy and Tommy in Wayne Co., KY. I've never been there and have not seen the cemetery. If you know anything about the history of Doublehead you wouldn't be at all anxious to claim descendancy.
