Curious as to Disbrowe origins in Cambridge. John Disbrowe, of West Wickham, died 1530. He must have been born in 1480s. Son John Disbrowe, died 1574 of Eltisley, ancestor of the Major General (and also my ancestor) Eltisley is in west Cambridge. Son Henry Disbrowe, died 1559 of Saffron Walden, Essex. ancestor of Nicholas Disbrowe, and probably Walter, Henry, and Peter, all immigrants to New England. Son Jeffrey, died 1589 of Burrough. Did he have children ? Son Thomas, no further details. Also in East Cambridge in the early 16th Century we find other Disbrowe's. Many in Wood Ditton, including Christopher Disbrowe, children in the 1570s. and Alice,Grace, and Ellen, all married in the 1570s. They would have been born in the 1550s or late 1540s. Also Lawrence Disbrowe, married in Dullingham in 1561. How were the Wood Ditton Disbrowe's and Lawrence related ? Looking for the text of the wills of John (1530) and Jeffrey (1588/9).
