I don't see any direct connection, but I suspect there may be one. My family is from Ostfriesland, and I had an aunt Vivian and an uncle Erwin, and have cousins named Mervyn and Myron. My Great Grandparents Roolf and Antje Dirksen emigrated from the village of Moordorf to the Dakotas in the 1890s. My parents Edward and Margaret Dirksen moved from Huron, SD to the Pacific Northwest in 1954 when I was 2 years old. I now live in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. My wife's name is Jacqueline, and I have two sons, Christopher and Eric.
