Hi, I'm living in Germany near Cologne and my father was born in Gdansk (Poland). He grew up at Kopparberg/Bangro in Sweden and came to Germany in 1959. The Source of the Name is in the German/Netherland Region Friesland and about 1618 some went out to the baltic room. They had been Mennonites and their Work was creating "Dijk" (Dutch) "Deich" (German). In the German part of Friesland there are many Dirksens around and in the village of Neuharlingersiel is a square named after a former mayor Dirksen.
