Craig, I responded to Harold Bathke much the same as I'm going to have to respond to you. I'm sure it's more likely at the moment that you and he are related. I haven't found any ties to any other Dirksens yet, but my great grandfather was a man of very very few words and few records. His death certificate lists John Dirksen and Anna Olka as his parents but no town in Germany where they originate from. I find no records of Anna so I'm wondering if her name is correct. That is as far as I've gotten. My ggrandfather had brothers, Cornelius who was the most written about, but even his descendants have not listed John Dirksen and Anna Olka as his parents. So I'm presently sitting at my brick wall still trying to peck away. Thank you for your response. I'm sorry mine is so late but I got off on a tangent on my mother's side and have just taken a break from it. Thanks for responding! Very glad to hear from you!
