Harold, I'm sorry I'm so far behind in getting back. It's not that I'm not interested, but I got off on a tangent looking for my mother's family and have been immersed in that for awhile. The pictures you referred to are fantastic. What treasures to have. My part of the family hasn't been tied, as yet, to anyone else's I've spoken to. I'm sure they tie in somewhere, but I've yet to find where as I'm at present suffering a brick wall past my great grandfather. He was a man of few words and few records so I haven't hit the right combination yet.His death certificate says his parents were John Dirksen and Anna Olka but I have no way of knowing if that is correct. I find no records of Anna so I'm wondering if her name is spelled correctly. I have no town of origin. I know my ggrandfather had some brothers, of whom Cornelius is the most written about but even his descendants have not reached past him and in fact have not listed John and Anna as his parents.
