Anton and John were brothers and I am in John's line. (There were 7 other brothers and a sister - I read on another post about Hermann - I have some info on that from a Phyllis Smith Brinkoetter and the Homoelle's, Elshoffs and Huels, Graliker, etc.)
John (the Dirksens were born at home at Neustrasse 30, Gronau, Westfalan and the house is still there) married Margaret Westenberger.
Children: John 2, Ted, Paul, Eva.
*John 2 had John 3, Ruth Eck, Alma Rudolph, Louise Rusko and Margaret Fitzgerald.
*I have nothing for Ted. (Yes, ANOTHER Ted)
*Paul A. (b.3-29-1876 Springfield/d.5-18-53)married Matilda "Tillie" Freund (b. 1-1-1876 in Johnsburg, IL/d.6-11-52 Springfield) in 1905. Four children: Paul F. (b.2-14-07/d.3-2-97) married Rose Frey (b.11-17-08)- no chilren;
Edward J. (b. 3-26-08/d.2-24-2001)married Leona Knecht (b. 9-15-12/d.9-7-59) and Virginia Ezra Allen (d. 5-12-91). One adopted child LINDA BRAND (me)(b. 11-2-46).
Kathryn E. (b.3-16-12/d.12-1-88) married Owen J. Higgins (b.6-25-78/d.2-11-78). Four children: Joseph E., John (Jack), Kathleen (Kay) Barthelmus and Paul F.
Alvin J. (b.11-17-15/d.1998) married Louise Horan. Four children: Lawrence J., Jane D. Galardi Summerford, James A. and Martha Adams.
*I have nothing on Eva, either.
My gggGrandmother was Anna Maria Nett Freund (widow of Martin) b. Engel, Coblenz, Germany 6/1788 d.7/20/1872 arrived US in 1850 settling in Johnsburg, IL with 5 sons.
Have a pretty good genealogy on the Freunds.
