Hi Everyone,
I haven't been into my Dirksen line in awhile, but wanted to let all of you know about a book I purchased from Germany.
It is about the First families of Moordorf,Germany. I have located my Dirksen line in this book (still need to verify).
The lines in the book take a bit to follow, as they were not patranomic yet in this time period. But you are able to see where the took their surnames from.
For the Dirksen line of Moordorf, one of their first settlers of Moordorf was Frerich Dirks, he married Greetje Hilbers in 1754. They took the name Dirks, for their first settler, and took on the name Dirksen.
If you have any inquiries, I will try to help. The book is written in German, and my translating is slow! :)
