Hello Heinrich!
My name is Craig Dirksen, and I live in the city of Portland, Oregon, on the Pacific coast of the United States. My Grandfather Ralph Roolfs Dirksen immigrated to the U.S. as a boy with his parents Roolf Roolfs Dirksen and Antje Sartorius Dirksen, in the year 1892. They came from the village of Moordorf, which is near Aurich, Ostfriesland, between Emden and Wilhelmshaven. I believe we may be distantly related, as one of my Grandfather's brothers was named Harm, and he married a woman who's last name was Clausen (perhaps a version of Klassen?. They lived in the state of South Dakota, which is in the upper midwest, where a large percentage of the population is of German or Scandinavian decent. The Lutheran church in the town near their farm continued to have services both in English and German until the 1950's, because of the large number of people in the area who continued to speak German, at least a home. My uncle Harm also fought in WWI, in the American army.
I would be very interested in corresponding with you regarding our families to see if we were related, and in hearing about how the family in the "old country" is doing.

Craig Dirksen
