Hi Bret, Believe I told you the earlier German Baptist Church records (now Calvery Baptist Church) in Pekin were cut apart to make a reunion booklet, thus birth/death information from the first church book seems no longer available. I hope to recheck this when we visit Pekin this month. From someone else's 1870 Census notes, thus needs a recheck: Page 214B, lines 25-28. Dwelling 106, Family No. 125 or 126?. Dirksen, John, 28, Male, Painter, Owns $100 Personal Property, born in Hanover, parents foreign born, not a citizen in 1870. Dirksen, Juntje or Jantze?, 29, Female, keeping house, born Hanover, parents foreign born, not a citizen in 1870. Dirksen, Elisabeth, 2, Female, born in Hanover. Dirksen, Jochum, 1, born in Illinois. From other donated notes: IL 1880 census. June 26, 1880, page 14, reel 254, Residing on Mendotta Street, Pekin. Dwelling 680, Family 680. Dirksen, John-----white, male, age 37, married, painter; born Hanover as were his parents. Dirksen, Johnna -(note taker indicates that handwriting of the census taker is hard to decipher, this is a possible Americanization of the name Jantze or Juntze), white, female, age 39, wife, housekeeper. Dirksen, Lizei------white, female, 12 daughter, at school, born Hanover. Dirksen, Jacob---(note taken indicates possible Americanization of the name, Jochum) white, male, age 11, son, at scho0l. Dirksen, Henry---white, male, age 10, son, at school, born Illinois. Dirksen, John---white male, age 8, son, at school. born Illinois. Dirsken, Tenda---white, female, age 4, daughter, born Illinois. All children but Elizabeth died youngish, don't think I have dates, I will try visiting Johanna's grave on our Pekin trip to check for stones - do not hold much hope as small stones I noticed as a child are no longer there. But, from an original death notice with German and English versions, in English: "Funeral Notice The funeral of John Fr. Dirksen, son of John and Johanna Dirksen, aged 13 years 6 Months and 25 days, will take place from the family residence, cor. George and Greenwich Streets, on Tuesday, November 24. at 2 o'clock P. M. Friends of the family are cordially invited to attend." Hope this helps a bit, will send more when I get organized. Ha! Get organized? Would appreciate what you might offer to this. Best, Tom
