Searching for info. about Germans from Russia, the family of Marten K. DUERKSEN, b. Dec.1836 in South Russia, and wife Catherine REIMER,b. Nov 1841 in Russia, who married abt. 1858 in Russia. These parents came to USA with Mennonite church in 1874 or 1877. Along with their children, Marten b.1859,Peter P. b.July 1861, Lizzie b 1864, Jacob b.1867, Abram b.1869, Katie b.1871, Agnes b.1873, Nellie b.1874, John b.1879.
The son Peter P. Duerksen married 1st: Sara WIELER on May 28, 1885 and had 8 children; Anna 1886, Peter 1887, Martin 1888, Anna 1890, George 1891, Katherine 1893, Peter 1894, Henry 1895. Peter P. then married 2nd. Elizabeth LOEWEN on July 19, 1896 and had 10 more children; Kathryn Elizabeth b.April 1897 in Lehigh, KS., Jocob b. 1898, Louise b. 1900, Helen b. 1903, Maria b.1904, David b.1905, Agnes b.1907, Nicklois b.1909, Marie b.1910, and John b. 1912. The children of Peter P. Duerksen all had last name of DIRKSEN. Any info. about any of these families is greatly appreciated. Willing to share and compare! Thanks,Kathy
