I'm trying to find out whom Abraham Duerksen I father and mother were. Abraham m. Elizabeth Buller and together they came to the USA in 1875 via Antwerp on ship Nederland and landed in Philadelphia, Penn. They settled near the Parker SD area and later built near Marion, SD. They came from Hirshau South Russia and am told that Abraham's father was named John but nobody can substantiate this and no one knows whom his mother was. I'm also told that the Duerksen surname originated in Holland (Nederlands) and are of Frisian origin. Can anyone substantiate this? please let me know if by chance someone can help me out, would appreciate any/all help. I desparately would like to find out whom Abraham Duerksen's I parents, grandparents were etc. Sincerely, Judy Duerksen Evans
