dear susan-john wesley dinwiddie is my great great grandfather-born 20 sep 1820 in kentucky, married 25 mar 1841 in cass co., illinois to elizabeth smith (born 11 oct 1822 in kentucky-died 25 oct 1899). According to census records, both his parents were born in virginia-both of hers born in tennessee.The list of children(according to my great auntie!) is as follows:1.Mary b. 25 jul 1842(married john batterton 20 sep 1860) 2.rebecca b. 31jan 1845-d.27 jul 1853 3.sarah b.31 jan1848-d.17 jul 1853 4.lavina (belle)b.6nov1850 5.minerva ellen b.15 aug 1853-d.23 jan 1854 6.sophia matilda b.21 jan 1855 7.samuel thomas b.30 apr 1858-d.30 dec 1930 8.charles cameron b.4apr 1861-d.21 may 1862 9.miranda irene (aunt rene)b.6 may 1863 10.james robert b.7 april 1867in sangamon co.,illinois-d.19 nov 1938 in yelm, wa.
