This sounds like he was really a Dewoody, not a Dinwiddie. If he arrived in America in 1784, he most likely was not the Wm. Dinwiddie who sometimes spelled his name this way and owned the Ordinary (Tavern) in Greenville, TN. This one arrived in Greenville around 1782 from PA "not yet 30 yrs old". I am interested in what else you have on the Dinwiddie/Dunwoody lines.
