Good sleuthing. I got my info from the IGI. Just checked back to see where the Christian came from, but can't find it. It is not on the IGI. Must have been from a collateral source. Just checked the IGI for Gillespie. There are a lot of them. But there is a Jean Gillespie born 23 Jul 1727 in K.P.Juxta to John G. (no mother listed) which would fit in nicely with your theory. I have some farm ownership records from Johnstone and Applegarth parishes, but none from K.P.Juxta, but I'm sure you could find some if you looked, but it may take some digging. Re: web site--linking would be great.
