Good sleuthing. I got my info from the IGI. Just checked back to see where the Christian came from, but can't find it. It is not on the IGI. Must have been from a collateral source. Just checked the IGI for Gillespie. There are a lot of them. But there is a Jean Gillespie born 23 Jul 1727 in K.P.Juxta to John G. (no mother listed) which would fit in nicely with your theory. I have some farm ownership records from Johnstone and Applegarth parishes, but none from K.P.Juxta, but I'm sure you could find some if you looked, but it may take some digging.
