Frances, I haven't been able to connect up with him. Thats why I was checking out the Dewitty's. There was a family by that namein E TN. There was a Wm Dinwiddie who owned a tavern in Greenville who sometimes spelled his name Dewitty. He was from PA which makes me think he is related, but I don't know how. None of the Greenville Dinwiddies ever had any official business - deeds, wills etc. in Wash. Co. I'm really confused on this one. I do have all the other Dinwiddies straightened out that were in Greeneville. They were all descendents of Wm. & Esther Rankin in PA. except the James who married Isabella Galbreath. He was the brother of Wm who married Frances Hunter in Campbell Co., VA. There were 3 Williams the same age. Mine was the 3rd one who married Elizabeth McWilliams and eventually ended up in Scott
Co., KY What connection do you have. I would love to correspond with you. Joyce
