I have relatives in California who are directly descendants of the Gov. Robert Dinwiddie who in 1753 gave George Washington his first commision. I am interested in any information, history of this family. They are related to the Faughts as when James L Dinwiddie came by wagon train to California, he married Amanda Ellen Faught. James's father and paternal grandfather were John Dinwiddie SR & JR. I have a biography of James L who was sheriff of Sonoma County for many years. It is in the historic library in Sonoma County. Anyone interested, let me know and I will send you a copy. I am very interested in James roots in Virginia and kentucky.Susan Faught
